Does PetSmart Sell turtles

Rated 1 out of 5 by DaisyKay Absolutely terrible! The platform broke after the first cleaning, the turtle food was too big for him to eat. We've had to shell out so much extra money because this kit was extremely inadequate. You'd be better off buying the pieces. The only decent thing about this kit is the tank and the lamps. That's it. Rated 1 out of 5 by Exhale junk I have 2 small red eared slider turtles. Bought the kit because it seemed cheaper than piecing out all of the parts that you need for the turtles. The water never stayed clean! Upgraded the filter to filter double the amount of water that was in the tank and it didn't make a difference. Returned everything, did not like the fact that the tank is not one piece it is halved on one side. I assume to better fit the filter, but the turtle could escape between the original filter and the tank. Had to place a piece of plastic to insure that they didn't. Recomend buying a canister filter they are awesome for turtles! Bottom line please do not waste your time and buy this tank unless you want to clean it every other day and the water to still seem cloudy. April 17, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fridasmom Loved it!! I bought this kit many years ago for a slider that my little sister brought home from a summer vacation trip. I was completely new to turtle care so luckily this kit had it all. At the time though, it only came with one basking lamp, which worked fine anyway. You can only fill the tank halfway up with water due to the side being open for the filter, but it still leaves plenty of swimming room for a young turtle or a couple baby turtles. The filter worked just fine and the tank looked great in my dining room. Would definitely recommend to anyone that doesn't have the room for a huge aquarium for their turtle. November 20, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Flapjack Good, but not great. I've had my Red Ear Slider turtle for about nine years now - and after his fifty gallon tank broke during a move, my beloved Shakespeare was rendered confined to the only other emergency water-holding device we had - a tote. I went into Petsmart looking for something affordable yet large enough to accommodate my pet, and ended up purchasing this kit. While the tank is fine, I am disappointed in the amount of water it can actually hold - with the hole cut for the filter, it's barely enough to cover Shakespeare's back, much less for him to have from to swim in. The filter cannot physically accommodate the filth a turtle produces, and has ultimately, all but failed its purpose of keeping the take clean and has to be cleaned weekly, less the water look like sewage. I'm sad to say the basking platform is very cheaply made, and after one wash of the tank, broke quite easily. This would be a fabulous tank for a smaller turtle (one that could easily fit into one hand), but is not suited to both Shakespeare's and my own needs, as Shakespeare is a decent-sized beast, ranking in at about 12 inches long and six inches wide. However, I'd happily reuse this tank if I ever purchased a baby or juvenile turtle, as long as I purchased a new filter, of course. November 3, 2014
